Stunning Employment Report

Let's see how many newspapers report anything beyond the 5% unemployment rate being unchanged. How's this:

+207,000 new jobs in July's payroll data
+42,000 in new jobs added to May and June in revisions
+438,000 in the household survey, that's +231,000 more jobs than the payroll survey

And only I track this: net new businesses up AGAIN, and is now running at +72,333 NET NEW BUSINESSES PER MONTH to equal a rate of +868,000 annually. That's 12.5% higher than July 2004!
